Camping on sand in a windy area what are your suggestions to secure the tent?
My pegs were worthless the sand was too soft and fine . Does filling plastic bags work? Do you still bury them or do they stay on top ? And if i buy those wide sand/snow pegs, do they stick up horizontally or do you bury them on their side? thanks
Plastic shopping bags tied to the corner of the tent then buried in the sand…they`ll last the weekend easily, just as long as you arent setting up and breaking the tent down moving to different spots. Once they`re buried they`ll last as long as you leave them there. or you can buy pie pans, you know those cheap aluminum pans to make home made pies. Pop a small hole in the middle of the pan pass a string or thin rope through it and tie a knot so it cant be pulled back through the pan. Then tie the other end of the line to the corner of the tent, where the stake/peg would go. The like only has to be 6-8inches long and then bury the pan, viola super cheap but durable sand anchor
