need to know how to protect an engine from crash by implementing a shock absorber at the front?

If you drop a rock on a cement driveway (etc.) It will stop instantly releasing all of its kinetic energy (of motion) in an instant. If you drop it on a folded newspaper it stops during the time the newspaper is being compressed, spreading out the duration the energy is being released (shock has been absorbed). Even wrapping brittle glass objects in newspaper to transport them helps absorb shock, avoiding damage. For your project try to use any material (honeycomb, etc.) that spreads out the duration shock is absorbed, which will lessen the force of impact (but not the total energy absorbed!).
