Serpico Approach

Serpico Approach

As you are probably aware, belly fat is among the most stubborn fat on our bodies. In order to get rid of it, you need to use a multi-pronged approach.

Fat Burning Exercise

Exercise is the number one weapon in the war against belly fat. However, most people who want to lose belly fat concentrate way too much on exercises like crunches, sit ups and leg lifts. These will help to strengthen abdominal muscles, which is certainly a good thing, but they will not burn fat off the stomach or anywhere else. To burn fat, you need to include cardio or aerobic exercise, such as fast walking, running or jogging, bicycling, or similar exercises.

Muscle Building Exercise

If you’re a woman, please don’t say “I don’t want to get big”. Women don’t have the hormones to build big muscles, but strength training will make the muscles you already have more shapely. However, this type of exercise’s main advantage when it comes to losing belly fat is that having more muscle makes our body burn more calories, which means more fat burning, which means….you got it – less belly fat! It’s best to use ‘big’ exercises like lunges, squats, push ups, shoulder presses, and the like, as opposed to isolation exercises like lateral raises, because the big exercises will help speed up your metabolism more.

Nutrition

Notice I didn’t say ‘diet’. To lose fat, including belly fat, ignore the prepackaged low fat, artificially sweetened diet foods in the supermarket. Make the majority of your food intake real foods like vegetables, fruit, and lean protein sources. Make these organic to the extent that it’s available and you can afford it. Limit starchy carbs somewhat, but it’s not necessary to avoid them completely. Be sure to get the good fats as contained in nuts, seeds, olive oil, avocados and fatty fish. Basically, the more closely you adhere to a ‘real food’ natural diet, the easier it’ll be for your exercise to strip fat from your body.

There you have it. A three-sided plan that’ll help you get rid of that belly fat fast. Now would you like to learn what the best ab exercises are? Check out http://www.exercisemachinesguide.com for that and lots more great exercise info.
