My dog always chases after a red laser pointer when i play with her. How can she see the red light?

I thought dogs could see in black and white. How can that be?

I’ve heard it was only certain colors like purple and shades, and cant see colors like red or green. My dog always ignores red pointers, and I always thought it was disinterest-not because he couldn’t tell something was there.
