NICD VS. NIMH Rechargeable Batteries?

Okay, I found some rechargeable nimh batteries, and on the package it says COMPATIBLE WITH ANY CHARGER. So, I figured, why not? So I picked them up, knowing I had a charger I could use at home. However, the charger says to use ONLY NICD batteries. IS this going to make a difference, or should things be okay to go? I’d really like to know so I can get my digicam working for me for cheaper. Thanks for the answers! And as always, best answer gets 10 points, and don’t forget your references!

If it says compatible with any charger then why not give it a go? Keep your eye on them to see if they get warm when charging, which is a good thing. If they start getting hot. Then don’t use the charger. They could explode.

Without giving more information i.e. capacity/charging current etc. I cannot help.
