Our 2002 Nissan Maxima has it’s airbag light flashing. Can you diagnose the problem using a wiring schematic?
Just recently our airbag light started flashing. There has not been any damage to the vehicle. Is there a way to diagnose where the problem originates if you have a wiring diagram?
The dealer wants $130 just to find where the problem is and then repair is extra on top of that.
I doubt that the OBD II scanners at Auto Zone are capable of reading codes for the SRS AirBag system. You need a Nissan dealers Consult II scanner to diagnose that system. Wiring diagrams are no help, SRS problems are usually air bags with intermittent open circuits or the steering wheel clock spring. Don’t use a VOM on the SRS system or you will set off the air bags and end up with $2,000 or more in replacement costs.
