Can I run a 12v LED spot light that was meant for a house in a 12v van? Will it empty my battery quickly?

You can run the 12 volt light from your van’s battery. Make sure that the polarity is correct or it won’t light up – LEDs must have the + and – the right way round. If you fit the right sort of accessory plug to the light you can use the vehicle’s cigarette lighter socket.

How long it take to run down your battery depends on the Wattage of the light. I suspect that it’s only a single-figure number. It is almost certainly less than the wattage of the van’s headlamps (which are normally about 45 w each). So if you have a good battery it’ll last for probably all night and you will still start the engine in the morning.
