what’s the difference between a laser and a flashlight?
Anyone know what the differences are? (in physics terms)

Ordinary light like a flashlight produces is produced randomly, with all frequencies and polarities.
Laser light is monochromatic and coherent, meaning it is only one color, [it's all of one wavelength], and all of those light waves are in step with each other, like waves rippling out from a stone dropped in a lake.
The power displayed by lasers is due to the tight patterning it is capable of.
