Help with making lanyards?
The other day, I bought this package filled with stuff for making lanyards (the plastic strings, key chain rings) and I was hoping for a full sheet instructional with it.
To my disappointment, it only came with this little instructional on how to do a 2-stringed lanyard.
I have done lanyards before, but I always do 4-stringed lanyards, I don’t know how long to cut the strings, and I don’t know how to get it started.
Could someone tell me or give me links on how long to cut the strings, how to get it started and how to tie the know at the end when finished?

(I did lanyards at a camp and they always cut the strings for us, started it for us, and hot glue gunned the bottom for us, instead of knotting it up.)
This brings back memories. I hadn’t done lanyards since camp when DD decided to try it.
If you are doing a four string square or spiral key chain pattern (too thick for a necklace – might make a bracelet) you cross two lengths of the plastic (key chain ring on the bottom piece) and start weaving upwards – cutting at least 2.25 the length that you want to end up with is probably a good guess to start, because you use up about that distance with each layer. It’s easier to cut some off than to add more!
If you are trying to end up with a “cord” pattern, I’m not sure what would work – possibly a clamp such as a Bulldog brand clip for thick piles of paperwork?
