How To Pack Lamps For Moving – Important Tips
Lamps are fragile and delicate items at the same time they are also expensive. On your home shifting you should pack your expensive lamps carefully and properly. Packing them for a move is especially challenging if you do not know the basics of packing lamps carefully and properly. If you do not give proper packing for your lamps, it is likely that you will have to face damage and breakage of your valuable lamps. So pack them carefully after knowing their basics. Have a look at some important tips and suggestions on how to pack lamps for moving. Follow these steps. These tips will surely help you protect your lamps from unnecessary breakage and damage.
Purchase all things you will need for packing the lamps well in advance before you pack them. Buy sturdy boxes or cartons that are large enough to accommodate the lamps. It is difficult to find tall boxes in general market. So it is advisable that you should purchase such boxes from a company that produces specialty cartons or boxes. Besides purchasing boxes, get many rolls of those brown heavy duty packing tapes and wrapping sheets or bubble wrap of good quality. Also get a making pen. Further, have some old newspapers, some old cotton clothes and spare foam for the proper cushions for the lamps before you place into the boxes or cartons.
Before starting packing, prepare the boxes and cartons. First of all, check to see if the box is too large for the lamp. Too big boxes or cartons will need more and more cushions materials, wrapping sheets, bubble wraps, etc. So it is recommended that you should choose boxes or cartons of proper sizes neither too big nor too small. Strengthen your cartons or boxes by using heavy duty tapes of good quality. This will ensure that the boxes or cartons will not tear away or unravel during the process of transportation to the new destination. Wrap packing tape all around the body of the cartons or boxes especially the bottom portion properly. Reinforce it some more by giving two or more layers of heavy duty packaging tapes. Do not use boxes or cartons which are already torn or poor in quality. Always use boxes or cartons which are sturdy and of good quality.
Prepare your lamps for packaging and boxing. First of all unscrew the lamp bulb and place it inside a bubble wrap. And fold ends with packaging tape. Secure the lamps wires by winding it around the bottom side of the lamp by using rubber bans to fold the ends of the wires. Take an appropriate length of bubble wrap and wrap the entire lamp with it. Use more and more bubble wrap to reinforce the lamps. Make certain that you use packaging tape the ends of the bubble wrap firmly to prevent them from disentanglement.
After finishing off the lamps place them on their bases first to make certain that it will stand properly. Put in bubble wrap containing the bulb. Place old clothes, foams or newspapers in the boxes for proper cushioning of lamps. Seal the cartons properly and securely using sufficient layers of heavy duty packaging tapes. Confirm that you label the boxes of their contents to make certain people transportation it will know it’s fragile.
