Those wanting to carry a handgun for protection purposes can obtain their concealed handgun license. However, even with permit you are still not allowed to carry handgun onto the property of schools, bars, churches, hospitals, and any other location that prohibits this action.
Penalties for Unlawful Weapons Convictions
In some states, this crime is considered a misdemeanor unless it occurs on the site of a business permitted or licensed for the sale of alcohol. When occurring on this type of site, the crime is considered a third degree felony.
