INSECT or MOSQUITO bite????? from a few months ago????

hello. a have a small itchy spot on my kneee and it feels like a mosquito bite and looks like a mosquito bite. but while i was scratching it, i remembered that when i was at the beach like 3 months ago, this big black and green insect that was the size of a horsefly came and pricked me on my knee. i screamed and shoed him away but he still stayed there until i took a magazine and whacked him away!!
could it be that his bit is still making me itchy after 4 months ongoing??? because now i am thinking that 4 months is long to be itchy still????

I would see a dermatologist.
