Flap Sun
in aircrafts, why do they do the following things..?
a)switching of cabin lights during take off and landing..
b)seats in upright position
c)window flaps are not opened during long flights even after the sun rises.
d)window flaps kept open during landing
e)not supposed to get up until the aircraft comes to a complete halt.

Cabin lights are turned on before takeoff and landing so that the cabin crew (flight attendants) can conduct “compliance checks”. This is when they walk the aisle ensuring that the overhead bins are closed and all luggage is stowed, as well as all seatbelts fastened.
Seats must be in the upright position because they are designed to withstand extreme forces in an accident (up to 75G’s and still protect the passenger. If they aren’t fully upright, the safety rating ay be reduced, as well as the fact that it might make survival for the person behind you more difficult (the reclined seat can get in the way during an evacuation).
Wind shades position during flight is at the discretion of each passenger sitting by the window.
Window shades need to be up during takeoff and landing, so that in the event of an emergency/evacuation cabin crew and passengers can quickly look out the window and see any dangers (fire) and make appropriate decisions.
Passengers are asked not to unbuckle their seatbelts and stay seated until the aircraft comes to a complete stop for safety. As a pilot, I can tell you many times when I have had to stop suddenly as we pulled into the gate because of an errant vehicle or misdirection from the ground handler. If you’re standing, there’s a greater chance you could fall and hurt yourself. Personally though, my though is if you want to get up and bang your head when I slam on the brakes, it’s your own fault if you get hurt… there’s a reason why airline crew tell you to please stay seated!
