Where in NW Oregon is a good, quiet place to camp with a lake/river/ocean and lots of privacy?
Live in Portland Oregon, want to leave to go camping tonight… we were going to go to Oswald West but it’s closed. Ideal place will have a lake, river, or ocean view and in walking distance, and is a “hike in” sort of place rather than a “camp next to your car” sort of place. Help!!? Thanks!
There are loads of places near Salem, Oregon, off Hwy 20. Just drive out past Silver Falls (also a nice place to camp although more concrete) and you’ll see tons of places like Horshoe Bend, Elkhorn Campground, etc. Detroit Lake offers camping areas. Bagby Hotsprings you have to hike to.
