can an 8mm led bulb fit into a flashlight made for 5mm bulbs?
also can 10 mm bulb fit too?
where can i buy ultra bright 5mm bulbs?
You can find ultra bright LEDs all over the net. From dealextreme.com to ebay.
You will most likely be able to fit 8 mm LEDs into a 5mm socket, if you can drill it open to 8mm and fix the LED in the new hole using silicone or a similar sealant / glue.
10mm is a LOT bigger than 5 mm. You might be able to drill it open to that size, but i doubt it. I also don’t know about LEDs that are that large and serve any real purpose.
You can buy a “luxeon star” or a multiple watt CREE LED. These put out multiple times the light of a regular LED.
Bigger LEDs are only brighter than small LEDs if they have a higher wattage (generally true, but some are more efficient…).
