Agree or Disagree: Black Sabbath, Led Zeppelin and Deep Purple paved the foundation for heavy metal?

I have often read that these 3 bands are considered the originators or at least foundation.

Black Sabbath was the first heavy metal band, though they did a lot of blues and other stuff. The next full-on heavy metal band was Judas Priest.

Judas Priest were fans of Black Sabbath, but went out of their way to not be influenced by other bands. They were also contemporary with Led Zeppelin and Deep Purple.
