I fell off my bike and hit the back of my head on the pavement?
It hurt really bad, but I got back up and rode home. I don’t remember feeling dizzy, just funny. It feels like I have something heavy in the back of my head. It’s hard to lift my head when I’m laying down or when I put my head back in the shower, it hurts and feels heavy. Is it OK?
Yes, I know I should have worn a helmet. I was planning to get one soon, but this happened yesterday and I went to sleep too.
I would say not. I would suggest taking a trip to your local ER to have it checked out. The brain is a very sensitive organ and it’s not something I would take lightly. You could have a concussion, a fractured skull, etc. The most important thing to do is to stay awake before you have it checked out. Head trauma could cause a person to slip into a coma, and falling asleep is one way to do so.
Also, in the future, make sure to wear a helmet. It’s the law.
