hiking the appalachian trail in two weeks?

I would like to hike part of the appalachian trail and i have two weeks were i can do it. How far can i get in that time?

You do not state where you are but getting on and off the trail are often big issues for section hikers (People hiking the trail in smaller sections at time) So I suggest you look for reasonable distances from your home if you are anywhere near the trail. It makes drop off and pick up a lot easier.

Other factors are your level of fitness and experience. If you have experience you are more likely to stick it out for 2 weeks. A sizable minority of hikers planning to thru hike the entire trail drop out before the two week mark..

If you are able to manage decent although not huge mileage then you could do The NJ NY sections in two week very comfortably. You could also do maryland and southern PA. VT and NH as well as Maine are too hard and introduction to the trail for most people who have not backpacked before and I could not suggest it. GA is short enough mileage indeed you could cove more miles, but the trial is semi rugged in spots and discouraging if you are new to this.

The Maryland and southern PA are some of the easiest hiking with fewer mountains.

It depends somewhat on your time frame. If it is spring break – stay away from the smokies and the skyline drive section in VA. You will have lots of company in GA between Feb and April.
